Following the successful Songs of the Soul Concerts in New York, the European students of Sri Chinmoy — under the guidance of Projjwal Pohland — had the idea to create a similar event in Europe. In November 2008 the group of several dozens of singers and musicians commemorated the musical legancy of Sri Chinmoy with a successful tour through 7 European cities: Berlin, Dresden, Prague, Munich, Milano, Zurich and Heidelberg. I was visiting the Zurich performance in the famous Bernhard Theatre, and captured a few inspiring sequences; here is a first with the two Swiss musicians Adesh (sitar) and his wife Ajita (Tabla), who learned music in Sri Lanka and are on Sri Chinmoy’s path for almost 30 years. Further videos will be available soon here on my blog, as well as on srichinmoy.tv and vimeo.

Two years ago I met the world-renowned Russian musician Boris Purushottama Grebenshikov for the first time, when he gave an interview in beautiful surroundings by the sea in Malaysia. In August 2008 I had the chance to speak with him again, a couple of hours before he performed at the Presbyterian Church in Manhattan at the Songs of the Soul concert, dedicated to Sri Chinmoy. The Russian singer speaks about his frequent travels to India, his upcoming concert in Dublin and offers his soulful feelings on music and life. This is episode 17 of my monthly interview series “LIFE Voices”. You can watch the video (7:39 min) here on the blog, on vimeo and on srichinmoy.tv.
