On October 11 and 12, 2008, a first National Bonsai Exhibition takes place in the Historic Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester, NY. The First National Bonsai Exhibition is an event dedicated to present to the world some of the finest bonsai in the United States. Only the best pre-judged bonsai masterpieces will be on display and will represent the elevated, refined and accomplished level of bonsai in America. Both traditional and formal alcove displays will allow the true beauty of each bonsai to come alive with the effective use of accessory plantings, scrolls and other art. You can also review and study the masterpiece bonsai in the Commemorative Exhibiton Album which will be published.
Over 200 fine quality bonsai will be artistically displayed so visitors can enjoy and study some of the most outstanding bonsai from the United States. Many of the bonsai are from private collections and have never been on display before. Each of the exhibited bonsai have been pre-judged and selected from numerous entries. Both traditional and formal alcove displays will allow the true beauty of these masterpiece bonsai to come alive with accessory plantings, scrolls, paintings, figurines and more. Several viewings may be necessary if visitors want to seriously study the bonsai shapes, display tables, accessories and the creativity each of the artists have created to present a message or feeling of the autumn season.
